A Painful Blessing

         My best friend once sent me a quote that described my personality in perfect essence. "I was born with a reading list that I will never finish." -Anonymous. My life consists of books, dance, and more books. If you're life is similar you will probably say yes to the following question. Have you ever had that feeling when you're reading a really good book and you're so attached to the characters that every moment you're not reading the book you feel like something is missing from you? Well, that is me when I read books, and let me tell you, it's not a pretty sight when I finish these book. Tears, screaming, burning books, yelling, cursing the author, and wishing unfortunate acts upon authors are all things that take place during this event. This painful blessing is what writers have. The ability to pull a reader into another world, become attached to characters, and cause the reader to feel empathy towards fictional characters while using only words, is an astonishing gift.
